Electrospider lands in Qatar

The parent company SolidWorld Group S.p.A. has signed a five-year distribution agreement with ORION BOSTARS LLC, an agency based in Doha (Qatar) for the marketing of biomedical products Qatar.
This gives the Group access to an important network of customers, namely health facilities and medical research institutes operating in Qatar. In this area comes Electrospider, 3D biostampante able to create reproductions of human cells and tissues with additive technology, developed thanks to the collaboration between Bio3DPrinting, SolidWorld Group and the Research Center "E. Piaggio" of the University of Pisa. The reproductions made by Electrospider of human tissues and organs are exact copies of the real ones, on which you can test oncological therapies to be used on the patient. Tissue replication also allows testing other types of drugs, creams and products, making them safe for humans and less impacting on the environment (in particular, avoiding animal testing). The long-term goal is to print organs and tissues to be implanted directly in patients, in case a transplant is needed.
ORION BOSTARS will also be able to market 3D printers distributed by Bio3DModel S.r.l., another Group company. Apparatus capable of making replicas of human organs in photopolymer resins reproducing the patient’s organs from X-rays or tomographs (both by structure and by tissue consistency, also including any tumour masses or other trauma), usable by medical teams to carry out pre-operative tests, The trade relations between Italy and Qatar, on the other hand, are growing strongly: in 2022 they reached the record level of almost 8 billion euros, with an increase of 141% compared to 2021. Italy is the fourth country in the world for exports to Qatar and the first at European level(1).
Roberto Rizzo, President of SolidWorld Group: "We are convinced that the path of internationalization is the right path to pursue the important growth goals that our Group intends to achieve and we are focusing our efforts on this".
